Wicked Plants

Looking for an eerie collection of indoor plants? Check out the interesting group below… if you dare.

1. Elephant Ear or Alocasia amazonica ‘Polly’, is a compact houseplant from the elephant ear family, known for its distinctive glossy leaves with large, silvery-green veining. It conjures up images of a forbidding jungle plant—a wicked choice for creating a bit of Halloween ambience.

2. Venus Fly Trap (Dionaea muscipula): The Venus flytrap (pictured) is a flowering plant best known for its carnivorous, insect-eating habits. The “trap” is made of two hinged lobes at the end of each leaf. The trap shuts tight on its unsuspecting victim.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7eQKSf0LmY

3. Lemon Bean Bush (Senecio barberonicus ‘Himalaya’): This unique succulent looks like it could tap you on the shoulder with its cold and clammy, finger-like leaves.

4. Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta): As one of the oldest living plants on earth, the sago palm may have survived so long because animals won’t eat it. All parts of the plants, including the seeds and roots, are poisonous. Show caution around this one!
